History
ITW Dynatec was formed through the merger of LTI, Mercer and Macon in 1992 when purchased by ITW (Illinois Tool Works). We now have manufacturing operations in China, Japan and Germany in addition to our headquarters/manufacturing in Hendersonville, TN, USA.
1965
Lockwood Technical Inc. (LTI) founded in Monterey, California. Market focus on packaging, product assembly and converting.
1968
Mercer Corporation founded in Hendersonville, TN. Market focus on nonwovens, converting and product assembly.
1992
Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in Glenview, IL purchased Mercer Corp., LTI and Macon in Europe to form ITW Dynatec and established headquarters in Hendersonville, TN and Mettmann, Germany.
1994
Introduced the signature M-Series adhesive melters to global marketplace.
1994
Introduced the signature S-Series adhesive melters to global marketplace as well as a new line of BF (Built-in-Filter) heads for packaging applications.
1997
ITW Dynatec purchased Air Print Cold Glue in New Smyrna Beach, FL to extend product line offering and include more cold glue products.
1998
ITW Dynatec’s patented UFD™ Fiberized Spray Technology released to market, revolutionizing non-contact adhesive application with extreme accuracy.
1998
ITW Dynatec achieved the rank of ISO 9001 quality certified international manufacturer through DNV in Norway.
2001
ITW Dynatec purchased Ten Plus in Cherisy, France, which specializes in modules and applicators, and established a global production facility.
2005
ITW Dynatec awarded VPP Star Certification for it’s outstanding safety program, joining less than 0.2% of U.S. manufacturing companies who have achieved this status.
2006
Patented Vector™ metering platform released to market, with accuracy and versatility previously unknown to the nonwoven industry.
2007
Opened new headquarters and 10,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility in Suzhou, China to produce Adhesive Supply Units and applicator heads.
2008
The adhesive delivery system ADS1 Dynafill™ is released, eliminating the need to manually fill hot melt adhesive tanks (hoppers).
2010
Vector™ metering station named “Most Innovative and Successful Equipment Technology” in the past three years by industry-leading companies and the nonwovens association, INDA, during IDEA trade show.
2012
ITW Dynatec purchased INATEC GmbH in Langenfeld, Germany, which is specialized in PUR adhesives bag melters and very large slot die applicators like CrossCoat and TwinCoat.

Adhesive Application System for robotic and metered décor lamination for Automotive interior applications released to market.

UltraLink applicator platform for high-speed strand, spray and slot die coating with the same applicator, especially for DHP segment, released to market.
